LGV and HGV driving involves mid level large and heavy good vehicle in different categories from up to 3.5 tonnes to 32 tonnes and above, including large trailers.
The first category of license in LGV and HGV is C1 license requirement.
Drivers over age of 18 who have passed the UK car test or have exchanged a foreign license to a UK license; which grants them a B category license for driving cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes, are eligible for C1 license.
For driving larger vehicles a driver must possess a C1 license. For availing the driver training facility for attainment of C1 license, one must apply for the exact provisional entitlement along with a medical report.
The C1 license attainment makes a driver qualified to drive LGV vehicles entailing:
• 3.5 ft to 7.5 ft high
• 3500 kg to 7.5 tonnes in weight
• Goods carrying vehicles that fall in the above category
• Ambulances
• Recreational and luxury vehicles, those are superior in size and weight category to cars
• Horsebox trailers in the above stated size and weight category

Prior to start of the training course, the drivers are invited to the training location, where the instructors analyze driver’s theoretical and practical knowledge of LGV and HGV and program a specialized and personalized course structure.
The course duration is of maximum 20 hours.
The fees for the C1 license training is 50 pounds per hour.
